"At Work"
Sung to the tune of "Walking in a Winter Wonderland"
Written by Erika Leigh Rosengarten (Nov. 8, 2002)
Inspired by working at Zany Brainy.
The music's playin', I'm forced
to listen!
Of tortured voices my ears try missin'.
Sounds Z.B. blasts is enough to shatter glass,
As I fix up the aisles here and there.
Frustrated parents and their
children,
Trashing shelves by the million.
Stuck cleanin' 'til 3A.M.
Urg to kill rising again.
As I fix up the aisles here and there.
Now I'm stuck up-front at the
registers,
As I greet customers that come 'round.
Someone'll ask "Is this on sale?",
And I'll say "No ma'am".
Then they turn away without a sound.
I'm on my way out past the
gate now.
Sleep deprived, you probably know how.
The holiday fright is over tonight.
So I won't have have to fix up the aisles here and
there.
