- Coloring In Photoshop |
|
| |
|
| |
I recommend using Photoshop versions 5.5 or higher
for Mac or Windows.

1.
The character's sketch is scanned
under the grey setting.

|

 |
|
2.
In Photoshop, using the Image
>Adjust > Brightiness/Contrast
setting, raise each setting
until the grey levels darken
to a point where they reach
black without making the lines
too thick.
|
| |
|
|
| |
 |
|
|
3.
Either using the flood fill or
multiply layer option, choose
the colors you would like to use
for your character and color each
section.
|
| |
|
|
| |
 |
|
4.
If you are over laying the character
over another background, use the
magic wand and delete the excess
around the character.
The eraser tool works as well. Use
the magic wand to select each area
of the character. You can then use
a combination of the burn/dodge
tools and paint brush set between
15 and 30 opacity. With constrasting,
lighter, or darker colors, they
can bring out your shading effects
more than the burn/dodge tools. |

& 6. Since this particular subject
was meant to be transparent over
her background, a layer was
created with just the character
and
set to an adjust layer opacity of
50%, as demonstrated by the
white dots. |
